Championships and race series racing in Texas, with every upcoming race weekend.

The biggest indoor dirt bike series in the world: seventeen Saturday nights in NFL stadiums from Anaheim in January to the Salt Lake City finale in May. The 250SX class splits into East and West regions that meet only at the Showdown.

The biggest amateur race in the world, and the one every American pro has ridden. Six days at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Tennessee, 1,500+ riders across 36 classes, all of whom earned their spot through a nationwide qualifying process.

An 8-round AMA-sanctioned Texas amateur motocross series run by Motoplayground, with a Pro-Am class layered onto alternating (even) rounds. Two rounds per weekend across four venues: Swan MX (Tyler), Rafter S MX (Malakoff), Iron Dog Motorsports Park (New Ulm) and Oak Hill Raceway (Alvord). It runs every year, and the 2024-25 season used a different venue rotation. The schedule shown is the completed Dec 2025-Feb 2026 season; the 2026-27 dates are not out yet, so check the official site before planning around any of them.

A monthly vintage-class club race on Waco Eagles MX Park's Back Track in Riesel, TX, run every third Sunday of the month through 2026 (practice 9-10am, racing from ~10am). Not a round-numbered championship. Waco Eagles' own schedule page frames it as a recurring date range ('January 18, 2026 - December 20, 2026') rather than a points series, so weekends here carry no round number. Five 2026 dates are named outright on Waco Eagles' own calendar (Jan 18, Sep 20, Oct 18, Nov 15, Dec 20); the other seven months follow the same 'third Sunday of the month' rule. Call-before-you-haul line: 254-875-9955.

Distinctly-branded companion series to the Main Event Championship Series, run at the same three Central Texas venues one calendar day after each Main Event round; 'EMX' most likely reads as 'Elite Motocross,' matching Lone Star MX's own self-description as an Elite Motocross Training facility.

Swan MX's in-house day-and-night points series in Tyler, TX, pairing daytime motos with under-the-lights night racing. Rounds 1-2 (early 2026) have no published dates. Round 3 runs 'June 20-21st' per Swan MX. Round 5 is a genuine scheduling quirk: it was originally booked for mid-August, then rescheduled by Swan MX to October 17-18, which puts it after Round 6 (Sept 25-27) on the calendar. Round 6 doubles as the 35th Annual Texas Pro Challenge weekend; Round 7 (series final) doubles as the 8th Annual Red Dirt Fall Classic.

Long-running amateur motocross series, once billed as the 'AMA Main Event Series', running a full 2026 season of 7 rounds across three Central Texas venues, plus a season-ending awards date.

A youth motocross points series run on the MiniXcross track at Metroplex Motocross Park in Fort Worth, TX.

The 11th Annual Shock Sox MotoMasters Vet Series (vet/masters class racing, ages 25+, presented by Johnsonville MX Farm) rotates across Texas tracks with one round crossing into Louisiana. Round 1 has no published 2026 date. The 'Texas Vet National' weekend (Apr 25-26, 2026 at Johnsonville MX Farm) is a separately-branded event on the same promoter's calendar, not a numbered round of this series. Round 5 is at Desoto Motosport Park in Grand Cane, LA (not Texas, despite the series' Texas-heavy footprint). Round 6 is a Friday-practice/Saturday/Sunday weekend at Rafter S MX; its single round number covers the full Aug 29-30 weekend per the promoter's own event listing.

Regional indoor arenacross touring series rotating through fairground, civic-center and expo-center arenas across five Mid-South states (TN/MS/LA/TX/AR). The 2026-27 season runs 16 rounds from September 2026 to March 2027, with 6 rounds in Mississippi and 2 in Louisiana.

AMA-sanctioned Saturday amateur and youth motocross under the lights at Metroplex Motocross Park in Fort Worth, Texas. Riders who make 3 of the 5 series rounds are eligible for overall awards, with a bonus for perfect attendance.

The 2026 Texas state motocross championship sanctioned by the NMA (National Motorcyclist Association) and run by Full Throttle Promotions, distinct from the AMA-sanctioned 'AMA Texas State Championship Series': different sanctioning body, its own North/South regional split and round numbering, and a different (though partly overlapping) set of host tracks. Seven regular rounds alternate North and South Texas venues, each standard points; Round 4 is a combined North/South Shootout at Cycle Ranch worth double points; the season closes with a triple-points Texas State Championship Finale at Freestone County Raceway. Full Throttle Promotions publishes the full round-by-round schedule, with dates, venues and North/South designation, on host-track Waco Eagles MX Park's site.

Six-round 2026 AMA-sanctioned night-racing series run entirely at 3 Palms Action Sports Park in Conroe, TX: one venue, main track under the lights, a class for every age from balance bikes to Open A. Riders must race 4 of the 6 rounds to qualify for season overall awards. The season runs Round 1 (Apr 18), Round 2 (May 2), Round 3 (Jun 13), Round 4 (Jul 18), Round 5 (Sep 12) and Round 6 (Nov 21). The track's own site only ever lists the next two or three events, so rounds drop off it once they have run; each round is announced on its Instagram (@3palmsmx) first. The Oct 10-11 'AMA Texas State Championship Series: South Round 5', also hosted at 3 Palms, is a different series sharing the venue, not a round of this one.

The off-season staple of Texas amateur motocross, run by Freestone Raceway since the late 1990s. Five rounds across four of the state’s best tracks in January and February, when most of the country is snowed in, which is why the series pulls riders and winter-training pros from well beyond Texas.

Statewide enduro circuit founded in 1973, running three divisions (Championship covering TX plus Cloudcroft NM, High Plains covering western TX and bordering states, Sabine covering eastern TX and bordering states). The circuit's own site states it was deliberately never AMA sanctioned so that only Texas residents could accumulate championship points. It is a separate, independently-governed circuit, not an AMA District 20/41/42 entity, though it covers the same geography.

The 2026 AMA amateur motocross championship for Texas, run across three geographic regions (North, Central, South) that map onto AMA Districts 20/41/42, with an All-Region Shootout and a season-ending State Championship Final. The series runs at texasstatewidechampionshipseries.com and races for an AMA #1 plate; an older 'Texas Motocross Alliance' link (texasmotocrossalliance.com) is dead and now redirects to an unrelated e-commerce site. Host tracks are Oak Hill Raceway, Bowers MX, Swan MX, Fort Phantom MX, 3 Palms Action Sports Park and Rafter S MX, each posting its own round dates.
